A recent report by YouScience and Black Girls Do STEM highlights a critical need for early exposure to STEM careers among Black students. The report, which analyzed data from 328,000 Black U.S. middle and high school students, reveals that while Black students have a high aptitude for STEM careers, their interest is often limited due to a lack of exposure and representation in these fields. This gap underscores the importance of integrating cultural studies and STEM education to inspire and empower our children from an early age.

Engaging children in STEM activities and cultural studies has far-reaching benefits. According to the report, interventions in middle and high school can significantly impact Black students' success in STEM careers. By providing tools, resources, and support, we can help our children see beyond stereotypes and envision a future in STEM fields.
